Thanks Joe, I really appreciate the advice. I checked on the Internet about what type of stuff to use in order to get it glued on and I finally decided to use some Gorrila Glue that I got from our local hardware store here. I followed the…

Bandsaw rubber tire adhesive

Greetings All,   I recenty had the rubber tire on the top wheel of my 16" Laguna 3000 damaged by the saw blade I had used. I replaced it with another rubber tire and was wondering what any of you have used to make it adhere to the wheel.  I used a really strong glue but after running it for approx. 15 minutes, the tire came off at a high rate of speed to say the least.   This is the first and last Laguna I will ever own. It has been one pain in the rear ever since I bought it just November…See More

Hey Guy, we hope you and everyone up that way is staying warm and dry. The News Stations here make it sound worse than it usually is at times so we hope you are all OK. Take Care, Ralph, Caron & Windsor

Hi Rick, yeah we have started snadbagging since last weekend. Just what we need, more water here. Even the ducks are tired of it.   We just returned from doing the Williamsburg, VA. show and I was not sure I was going to make it back…

Fred, where did you get the pattern for making that lathe or is it one you came up with yourself?

Here is a photo of the Heart Stools we make. The smaller 12" size ones really sell good for us and is a good seller at our shop. Kids do like them, at least until they have to use it for a "time-out" stool. Ha! Ha!

Thanks Fred. Like I said, the turning is the only part of Windsor chair making that I do not care for. I probably would like it better if my lower back did not hurt so bad afterwards.     I also thought I'd pass on a little…

Hello Fred, while watching your video on turning, I was wondering what speed you had your lathe set at? I have noticed that you and another turner I was watching his video recently, both you Guy's have your fingers really close to the…

Locating various types of wood

Hello Fred,   I thought I'd pass on some information for anyone looking for wood to make Windsor chairs or figured wood for making other types of furniture. I found a web site called www.WoodPlanet.com If these Guy's do not have it or it can't be found, it's probably because God didn't make it. Ha! Ha! Anyway, the good thing about the site is, you register your information and let them know just what sort of wood you are looking for and they will have…See More

Hey Ralph,
Welcome. Feel free to start a discussion on the forum (bottom of main page) and to add your own pics on your page. I would like to make this a resource for collectors, chairmakers, woodworkers and furniture makers to share information and ask questions.

Thanks for joining in

Ralph, thanks for the tip, I never thought of looking at ebay, will do it soon. Looks like you have a nice set up and I like the 4x4 posts. Also, one of the suppliers I dealt with when working is looking in his maint dept as well. Slow but steady but getting everything together to build my second chair, just hope I don't forget what I learned in July :) Thanks again.

Ralph, thanks for the quick reply. I took the class with Dunbar in July and have been looking ever since.  I have honestly scoured the country side, eBay, the big flea market in memphis, the one in Jackson isn't that great, I have looked at an old school hardware store near Cincinnati during one of my visits, all with no luck. I would be more than happy to purchase a couple if you can see to let them go and the freight to get them to 38343. I have joined a local turners club that I just found out existed and am making good contacts with those guys for some green umber that I can handle. Getting closer

Ralph, if the weather was a little better I would take a road trip and head north.  2 - 5 gallons cans would be great. My address is:

Rick Lasita

71 Turner Loop Road

Humboldt, TN 38343

Don't forget to tell me the shipping charges. I really do appreciate your help, I am getting closer to actually building some chairs.   Rick

Hi Ralph, hope you are staying warm up there, this snow in TN is getting old! Did you ship the cans yet? We are heading for Cincinnati for a visit and I want to be sure I will be here. Thanks, Rick

hi Ralph, as of today I haven't received the packages. I hope tomorrow, I will let you know as soon as I do get them. Again thanks for your help in getting me started. The weather here is warming up so I did get to play golf the past two days. I will be in touch. Rick
