Matt,
That's a beautifull form of Windsor Chair and I have long been willing to reproduce it after I saw it and read about in Charles Santore's book years ago. (The Windsor style in America, page 199-200)
Your version seems to be a close copy of the Jefferson's chair in its supposed original state as it was sketched by Charles Santore and reproduced by Robert Whitley. Am I right?
As for the swivelling mecanism, did you use the original swivelling device as described by Santore ( a central iron axis and a crown of sash-pulleys rolling in a groove between the two seat planks) or did you use a modern ball bearing Lazy Suzan ?
Congratulation for that beautiful and rare chair.
I wish you a happy and busy chair making new year .

Yeah I actually got plans from Whitley that is a full scale set of drawings and is so acurate it's almost worth the price of $150, almost. I did use the center swivel mechanism on my first one but have since changed that to a new ball bearing 6" swivel because the original had a tendancy to rock and would bind up, with the ball bearing it works great and I have had no trouble with it. Thank you for the compliment I really greatly appriciate it.
